A man was struck by a Union Pacific Railroad train Wednesday in the Pomona area and died at the scene.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was killed shortly before noon east of the Metrolink Pomona-Downtown Station in the 100 block of West First Street, according to the coroner’s office and Metrolink.
Metrolink’s Riverside Line was closed between Industry and East Ontario for two hours, but the tracks reopened about 2 p.m.
