Firefighters and paramedics Sunday rescued four hikers from the Hollywood Hills and Brentwood areas who suffered an extent of injuries that were non-life threatening to potentially traumatic.
The four incidents were unrelated.
At 7:59 a.m., a male hiker in Hollywood Hills suffering from an injury to his lower body was airlifted from a location in the 3000 block of North Runyon Canyon Road, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
At 8:35 a.m., a male hiker in Brentwood, in the 17000 block of West Mulholland Drive, suffered an injury to his lower body and was brought to safety via a two-line roper system, Stewart said. He fell approximately 75 feet over the side of a hill.
A female hiker, unable to walk from an injury to her lower body, was hoisted from Bronson Canyon in the 3200 block of North Canyon Drive in Griffith Park. Firefighters and paramedics were sent to the scene at 8:39 a.m., she said.
At 9:34 a.m., a female hiker suffered potential traumatic injuries when she fell approximately 15 feet down a hillside near the Hollywood sign in the 3400 block of North Beachwood Drive, Stewart said. She was being hoisted from the scene by an LAFD aircraft.
