A mulch fire in Thermal burned for nearly three hours before it was contained early Sunday morning, but no injuries or evacuations were reported.
The 15-foot mulch pile ignited shortly before 9:15 p.m. Saturday in the 89000 block of 64th Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
It was contained at 12:03 a.m.
The fire was a few miles from the Sun Valley Recycling Center, where a month-long mulch fire burned in October, causing several nearby schools to be evacuated.
